AOYAD — Membership & Joining as a Royal Descendant
Who Can Join AOYAD

Membership in AOYAD is open to:

  • Yoruba royals, chiefs, and traditional leaders.
  • Yoruba descendants in Africa and across the global Diaspora.
  • Recognized cultural leaders, researchers, and professionals promoting Yoruba heritage.

Every member represents a royal lineage and carries the responsibility to uphold the pride, dignity, and traditions of our ancestors.

2️⃣ The Meaning of Membership

Becoming a member of AOYAD is not just joining an organization — it is a restoration of heritage. Members form a global network dedicated to preserving Yoruba identity and promoting cultural development.

  • A Custodian of Yoruba Culture.
  • A Representative of Royal Dignity.
  • A Voice for Unity and Legacy.
3️⃣ Membership Registration Process
1️⃣
Application – Complete the membership form online or through your Country VP.
2️⃣
Registration Fee – ₦100,000 (one-time, non-refundable). (Ref: Article 14.1)
3️⃣
Verification – Details reviewed by the Secretariat.
4️⃣
Induction – Receive your Certificate, Royal ID, and Welcome Package. (Ref: Article 14.2)
4️⃣ Membership Benefits
  • Cultural Exchange & Recognition – Attend AOYAD festivals & OBA Yoruba Diaspora Awards. (Ref: Article 7.1)
  • Networking & Royal Connections – Link with royals and professionals worldwide.
  • Leadership Opportunities – Serve as ambassadors or committee heads.
  • Access to Resources – Participate in seminars, exhibitions, and programs.
  • Royal Documentation – Your name added to AOYAD’s global registry.
5️⃣ Membership Dues

To stay active, members contribute dues that sustain AOYAD’s royal and cultural programs.

Monthly: ₦10,000 (by the 25th).

Annual: ₦100,000 (by January 15).

Three-month default → inactive status until dues are settled.

6️⃣ Member Responsibilities
  • Uphold AOYAD’s constitution and royal ethics.
  • Participate in cultural events and meetings.
  • Represent Yoruba culture positively.
  • Contribute ideas, time, or resources.
